AFTER 20 PLUS YEARS IN THE INDUSTRY, BEN HAS SOLD THE COMPANY AND WILL NO LONGER BE DIRECTLY INVOLVED WITH THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS. FOR A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM BEN, AS WELL AS INFORMATION ABOUT THE NEW OWNERS AND OTHERS ON OUR STAFF PLEASE SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM AND VISIT OUR ABOUT US PAGE. For some of us Ben has been great to deal with and I have personally bought over 20 guns from Classic (way more than) and they have always been great to deal with. That does not mean to indicate in any way the new owners will not be following in the same tradition but that is for them to show by the way they continue the business. I was impressed. I did find a tobacco tin cleaning kit for $10. This was 1/2 of what anyone else was asking. So I ordered one. It came today and it is beautiful! Everything is as advertized, and the quality and condition is excellent. I would highly recomend it and them! I bought a refurbed RC Kar98k 42 marked 1940 date from Wulfmann. It is excellent and I take his recomendations to heart. This is a good site, lets see if they keep it up.

I've been very happy with Ben. One suggestion (from my point of view): Cut back on the personal and religious blather.

He simply stated he was a Christian for all to see and know and in so doing you knew he had a standard to live up to. As a Christian I expect to be held to that same standard of my word so appreciate it when people wear their heart on their sleeve. It would be nice if we could see what a person was like but rarely do people want us to know to discourage business. That said, anyone who says "trust me, I'm a Christian, trust me, I'm a white man, trust me I am (put anything here) should be viewed with caution. Their deeds should be what decides their standing. Ben stated he was a Christian then earned your trust with fair and honest practice. Doesn't have to do with BS, just being compelled to say everything that pops into one's head. You don't have to be a Christian to be moral and I'm turned off by people who wear their religion on their sleeves. Like I say, I have bought a good number of items from Ben and have been extremely happy. By the way, that website doesn't seem to be moving very fast with Ben not at the helm.

No one said anything of the kind. Christians are not better than anyone else, just forgiven by God for being like everyone else. My point was Ben was putting himself in a position of having to own up to a moral standard that not doing so would make him look hypocritical. So, if I take your post like you took mine I must assume you don't like people who are Christians??? Or, just people that admit it in public as it should be a secret not mentioned in the company of decent folk!!!!???!!! Ben posted far more about his daughter's softball team than about anything Christian. However, it was below the gun stuff and it was his house. When I do not like what people do in their house, I do not go to their house. I do not expect them to adhere to my beliefs. If I come to your house I would respect your desire not to mention Christ, his sacrifice, the eternal life he offers freely or the consequences of ignoring his grace. You need to pay attention to conversation. Happens to me when I had too much coffee. I like Ben and miss him. Hated to see him go. And, I'm sure you are a pious and righteous person but I won't go beyond that. I don't like Christians? I probably had more Christian indoctrination by the time I left Catholic high school than most people do in a lifetime. My comment is that it is a bit odd that someone has to interject his religious beliefs on a business website used to sell guns. Sort of evangelistic. Like, you don't expect to go to the drug store and see crucifixes, statues of saints, religious plaques, etc., would you?

I am about as pious as I look!!! My; does that mean you don't like Christians; was a counter to you being turned off by people letting you know how they feel, another vantage to how that sounded or could be taken. Catholicism is very different that the Christianity Ben professed and Catholism was indoctrination. The Catholic Church would have killed Ben or myself in the inquisition along with Jews and Muslims and only in recent times has it adopted Christian principles over Catholic ones. John Paul reverted to the Bible as does Benji it seems. I know it sometimes comes as a shock when a Bible student blatantly states this but for most of its existence the Catholic Church was a political organization the imposed itself on people much like radical Islam does today. It did not preach the Gospel it demanded conversion by duress, by force and by death if need be which again is what radical Islam now does (And Islam pretty much always did) I agree, going into a place of business and being bombarded by religion does not encourage me to return even if they are my beliefs (which, of course are the only true and correct beliefs!!) However, some reference to what the people are like is a good thing to me. If they are Italian and Catholic and have an Italian flag a crucifix and a picture of the Colosseum I have an idea about them but if they waste my time with half the store full of artifacts and blast Sicilian village music then I am not induced to return so they hurt themselves. Same if I walk into a Muslim shop and the owner diplays photos of infidel GIs being beheaed, don't count on my support but if they show some of who they are so I know to be respectful as they do the same then by all means show your colors. Ben did not preach, IMO, but made clear his passion for being a Christian but never imposed on anyone that I have ever heard of. We will have to agree to disagree on this. Frankly I think he was smart to get out of the gun business at this time as I do not think it has a profitable future, just a guess!! I'd grade you a 'C' on it because you appear to be ignorant of negative things that protestants have inflicted on humanity. Brush up on your history, please. Do you look pious? I don't blame Ben at all for getting out.Sometimes you just gotta move on.More power to him! I don"t belive that he would sell the company to just anyone.His high standards and ethics would not allow him to do that. Let's give the new owners a chance.Checked out the website today,and there is a lot of cool stuff at decent prices. Gentlemen,we are going through some tough times right now. People are a bit edgy {and rightly so }. But this to will pass. Just keep your powder dry ! We are all friends here.

Orange comes to mind as a good example. TV evangelist are another good example of using the name of God to abuse people. Blasphemy means to attach God's name to a lie and listening to Jimmy cry "I have sinned" then go right back and still be accepted is enough to make ones stomach turn. And, I agree even decent Protestants can be ignorant. I remember doing a story in Jerusalem and the guide explaining how Protestants believed the scull/face looking thing on the side of the hill was where Jesus was crucified contrary to where the Greek Orthodox claimed. The word in the new testament described the hill as a crown, Kronos in Greek but the site the Protestants chose was a face , Prosopos in Greek and since Kronos is the word used and the site of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher was built on a crown rock hill which was right outside the then front gate and Romans executed people as an example I was amused at the blatant stubbornness it took to basically say it must be anywhere but where the Greek Orthodox says. I admit to ignorance which is why I constantly seek knowledge on every subject. While I am no expert I am well enough versed to know that Catholicism and Christianity do not mean the same thing and when people blame Christians for what Rome did I am and will always be quick to point out Rome has rarely and only recently been somewhat on the same page as Jesus on most everything. No offense intended, just from studying the now even admitted history of the Roman Catholic Church.. Thanks for the C Gl40, we are not doing anything more than having a discussion.
