Many Apologies!!! |

|
I owe all the folks I was having side conversations with a big apology- got in a bad situation and had emergency back surgery last week and just got home a few
minutes ago. It may take me a while to get back to the computer, as I can tolerate it only about once a day for a short while. It's all good now, the left
leg was temporarily paralyzed but is coming back slowly and I should get out of this with a need for a shillelagh only. Sorry bout disappearing from the face
of the earth for awhile...and guys, here's some advice- don't get older, it's like a train wreck in slow motion!!

Welcome back, and sorry it is that you were gone for something so unfun! Bad backs...I know what you mean.
I wouldn't worry too much about leaving abruptly, those things happen. Just glad you made it back!! While aging may be likened unto a slow motion train wreck, it still beats the alternative!!! |

Bill,
I don't think we can stop the aging process (yet). Glad you're doing OK!!!! Get well and stay that way!

Indeed, Bill; sorry to hear about your troubles and glad that you are back. Trust that leg will regain normal function for you.

Bill, I'm afraid I know what you feel about the aging thing. Just can't seem to slow it down as much as I want. Time flies these days don't it?
I hope and pray you feel better really soon.

Welcome back Bill
Apologizing for getting older? It may be a pain sometimes, but it sure beats the alternative of not getting older. |

Yep, I found out that the warranty runs out at 50.

Take it easy and get well my friend. You'll be back to wearing the letters off your keyboard soon enough.

We all told you but you were just too young to listen! And how well I know that! Hey Bill doesn't Geezerhood Suck? Here I am wide awake at 2:44 AM local
Thanks to a pill I took at 8:30 PM local which resulted in my crashing in a chair for 4 hours or so and waking up frozen and stiff and unable to sleep when I
should be? As my buddy always says at least I ain't getting my mail from the groundhog! Get Well Bill! from another old geezer Bill!

Thanks for the kind thoughts- ZeeBill, don't make me laugh so hard, it hurts!
You know you're a milsurp nut when the doc limits you to lifting 10 lbs. and your first thought is......"Hmmm, I wonder what a Garand weighs?"

The bright side may be that no one woke you up to give you a sleeping pill and charged you the arm-and-leg to do it.

Had cataract surgery three weeks ago. My first thought upon getting the eyepatch off was "how long before I can shoot a hard kicking rifle without
squirting my new lens downrange".

No injuries....although I went rafting last Sunday...man I was sore afterwards....I guess all the tensing of my legs to stay in the boat!
Another boat "ate it" big time, folded, ejected everyone. One guy got a tooth knocked out and another came really close to drowning. Had I not gotten the bartending gig, I would have been a raft guide! Hope you recover soon Bill, hsc |

Good luck on your recovery! I hope your doctor gave you a set of exercises to get your physical conditioning back. It's amazing how fast it deteriorates
when you haven't been doing anything. When I had abdominal surgery four years ago, I asked the doc what I could do and he said: "Just piddle
around".

My orthopedic surgeon rebuilt my left shoulder/AC joint on 5 January and had me in physical therapy 4 days later - I "graduate" this coming Tuesday!
Still, 8 weeks in a sling and pad, even with PT left me deconditioned. But then, I am nearly 66 and never was anything but a puny little guy anyhow. Early
rehab is great, professionally monitored.
