Simmons Prohunter Pistol 2x20mm. Perfect eye relief on my M98's, and excellent light transmission and optical quality. 1/2 moa adjustment, so be forewarned.

Midway has BSA 2 power pistol scopes on sale. Think I'll order 2, one for the M48 and one for the 91/30. Thanks for the info fellas.

I put an NC Star on my 8mm and it lasted three shots and gave up the ghost. Remember, one gets what one pays for in optics. I will stick with Burris and Leupold in the future. I also tried a Sightron on my 8mm/06 and it has held up good.

2x seems kind of pointless. YOu might as well keep the ironsights. Any variable zoom has more parts thus making it more succeptable to failure. Any fixed zoom
is more rugged for that reason. I went with the 4x32 because I'm not shooting any rediculous distances maybe 200 yards or so. and that works well for me.
It depends on your situation. I use mine for hunting and there aren't many places up north where you'll be free from trees beyond 200 yards to make it
worth my while. But maybe for you, you'll want to do some longer range shooting. In that case I'd go with a variable zoom, also if you'll be
changing situations requiring variable zoom.

Using a NCSTAR 4X32 on a M38 Mosin carbine with Darrell's scout mount. Around 2,000 rounds and counting. No problems with zero, etc. yet. This rifle is
capable of 2 inch groups and does it regularly when I can.
