Nice M91/30 there, Noob! And I see that you got one of the historically significant receivers with the "machined by beavers with their teeth" marks
on it!
You'll enjoy this rifle, and, I believe, be pleasantly surprised at how accurate it is.
Good Shooting and God Bless!!

What? No flaking shellack? Nice one even if it is chewed by beavers. I have a few just like it but the shellack is falling off.

Make sure you put the bayo on if at a public range so you enjoy bug eyes of the guys in the lanes next to you!
You rifle is a quite nice example and the guys are right when they point out the proof of history those production marks record. Just imagine the production lines in action as workers urgently make these weapons for their men and women in uniform going toe to toe with the Nazi machine!

And you will probably discover that it shoots closer to the point of aim with the bayonet attached! Unless someone has already compensated the sights for it.

The Soviet doctrine called for the bayonet to always be on the rifle. And thus, the rifle was always sighted in with the bayonet attached. And once a rifle is
sighted in, doing anything with the muzzle end of the barrel can and will throw off the sighting. It has also been long known that shooting the M-44 carbines
with the bayonet folded results in only so-so accuracy. Unfolding the bayonet and letting it stick out proud will make them shoot like they were intended to
shoot. On mine, it makes about six inches of windage compensation at 100 yards to shoot it with the bayonet folded.
