The first signs this panic buying is ending may have just occurred at the Lakeland Collector's Gun Show in Florida going on right now.
This is one of the best and biggest gun shows in the US and this one is considered the worst in over 10 years and no waiting lines to get in. Since the mediocre gun shows were packed with pay any price asked for ammo the norm this may have been the weekend where this all starts to turn around like the housing bubble. I only do the two little shows (one table) very near my home (One in Melbourne the other in Sebastian) (Florida) but what I did in the last of each was unbelievable so I will post after next weekend's Sebastian Show and then the following week's Melbourne show to see if this trend of a bursting bubble continues. I think you may be on to something. Some people were predicting it would last six months and the bubble would burst just like the stock market and the housing
situation. With the economy being like it is, it is actually surprizing me that it has gone on this long. If the economy was like it was a couple years ago, I
could see it going on for at least two years. But with a lot of cutbacks, people out of work, and such like it is today, people are starting to come to their
senses maybe? Rent has to be paid and food has to be put on the table and the car gassed up.
In fact, I see it reversing itself in a few months if the economy does not improve. Those people who bought firearms and ammunition that ordinarily would not will be selling them off at a loss to make their monthly rent payments and such. It could turn into a buyer's market in less than a year. Once the manufacturers get caught up in back orders and the ammunition factorys get caught up, we may end up with a large surplus of firearms and ammunition on the market simply because people can no longer afford them. Time will tell, I guess. Curt |

If the economy doesn't improve or continues to deteriorate, the pawn shops will be busy. I may be involved in the design of a Pawn America store to be
built about 25 miles from here. I didn't know there pawn shop chain stores! Carl

It doesn't look like the bubble has burst yet, it's still inflating.
Went to a gun show today and saw 7.62 x 39 in various flavors for $8.50 - $9.00 per box of 20. Couple of months ago it was still $4-5 a box. |
