It is particularly sad to see the general level of ignorance that the pro-banners exhibit, about firearms, the constitution and nearly everything they choose to talk about. Sad very very sad. Honestly I think these media polls are pure BS. When they don't go in there favor they put it on the back page if reported at all. Just join the NRA. It's the best lobby we have right now.

Often a very reluctant member due to their high pressure mailing tactics to get you to renew immediately and the intimidating phone calls falsely accusing me of pledging money when I know for a fact I did not. Yes, it happened and it made me quit them for 5 years. But, unfortunately the GOA who I like far better just does not have the political clout the NRA does. Maybe if they'd join forces things would be better. But join if you can. Recently you could join for a year for free. I did. This poll will be ignored by the "mainstream media" because it does not reflect their point of view. Anyone who knows anything about cable news networks knows MSNBC is far to the left of even CNN, and ranks at the bottom in the ratings. If this poll was running even 55% for a reinstatement of the AWB, the mainstream media would be heralding it as an overwhelming grassroots call for a new ban.....and the White House would be using this poll in it's talking points.

Posts: 614 (04/26/09 05:40 PM) Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	The NRA is the best bet to keep our right to own guns and "thanks" to everyone who joins or re-joins and I also don't agree with the pressure tactics they used to use. I became a life member years ago and when they offered discount life memberships for family members I bought my son his life membership. Recently (a few months ago) they offered discount life memberships again for family members of life members so I bought my 8 month old grandson his lifetime membership at $300 and that's a good deal for a future shooter. Now counting my father we have 4 generations of our family as lifetime members. The possible future discounts for family is something to think about when considering a lifetime membership. I think the next few years will see the "banners" try to tax or ban everything firearms related and I hope it can be stopped. It has to be known that any support of gun control will cost the members of congress who support it their job.

Yes, I too have "issues" about how they waste postage trying to get me to renew for next year, only a month after I have renewed for this year. I'm not an idiot, I know when my daggone renewal comes due... That money could be better spent fighting for the cause than trying to get me to renew 11 months early. However, they are the only entity with enough 'political clout' standing between us and the Socialists that would take away our 2nd Amendment rights forever.
