What did I buy and whats it worth? |

I bought a 1900 Obie Swede short rifle. It was marked as a M38 but it has a straight bolt handle. Is the a 96/38? All the numbers match and the blue is ex. It
still had some cosmo in the action and some dried in the bore. The bore looks spotless after a couple patches. The stock, looks like walnut, has typical dings
and looks like the original finish. My CG M38 has the bent handle and a Beech stock. I'll try and get some picks when I get a chance. Thanks

All Carl Gustaf & Mauser M-38's were originally M-96's with straight bolts . They just reduced the length by about 5 inches . Some needed new bolts
& got straight replacement bolts ( most common ) , but some got the forged down bolts .
The importers coined the model 96/38 , but all Swedish mausers with the 23.5 inch barrel are called M-38's by the swedes . |

It's very hard to put a value on your rifle with the info you've provided. Detailed pictures would help us out and let us give you a ball park
estimate...Jim
