Just picked up an Argentine Navy 7.62mm X 51 conversion of the FN-49 from the original 7.65 Argentinean. It is in excellent condition with all matching numbers including the bayonet. After a detailed stripping, it is marked correctly in all the correct places with the appropriate numbers and symbols. As only 1,000 - 2,000 Argy rifles have been imported, this is one of the scarcer mil-surp rifles around, especially in this condition! (Pardon my bragging, please!) The fact that it is the immediate predecessor of the FAL is apparent as the gas system is almost identical and the bolt/bolt carrier group is very similar to the FAL. Between the great condition, matching bayonet and 4 original 20 round magazines - I think I have a keeper.
