Destroyed guns |
Lead | |
|
I'm interested in seeing some destroyed guns , ones that have burst from too much pressure or a clogged barrel has exploded . The reason why I ask is
because I can't find many pictures on the internet and I seem to remember someone on this forum having a picture of a rifle that was loaded with the wrong
cartridge or something like that
. Well post away please

In both of these cases, the dealers were probably selling the guns as "Cracked Stock" specials.

The shooter was an experienced handloader who still made the error of using pistol powder instead of rifle powder. Injuries were limited to damaged hearing inspite of wearing ear protection. The fellow was very lucky. Carl |

I saw some real looking pics online of a guy who had the tip of his finger cut off by the gasses escaping from the cylinder gap of a S&W 460 Magnum. The
gun was fine, except for the blood pitting. Proper grip is everything for safety and accuracy.

I saw a picture on another board of a sporting rifle that had been fired WITH the bore sighter still in the barrel. Ouch!

I have shot a S&W 500 one time and I have no desire to do it again! My hand was TINGLING afterwards.
That "blown up Mauser" above looks to have a M96 bolt....apparently the dual locking lugs didn't help much in this case. LOL. Hope the guy was OK. hsc |

My bulged Kahr 1928A1 semi-auto Thompson. Using Speer Blazer aluminum case .45, I got an underloaded round and didn't notice the lack of "pop"
and the slug got stuck in the barrel, and the next round I fired struck the stuck round and bulged the barrel, and the slug was stuck in there. Sent it to Kahr
and they replaced the barrel free (great customer service) and I included an explanation and an empty box of Speer, which they requested, for the lot number. I
contacted Speer and told them their bad lot of ammo nearly blew my gun up, and they really did nothing to try to satisfy me.

I had an overloaded Federal Hydrashock 40 cal blow the extractor out of my Glock 22. I had 6 boxes left in the case of 10 I had bought, & Federal sent a
call tag for the remaining ammo, & Glock fixed the pistol. Fed only sent 6 boxes of ammo, not a full case. I don't remember what I did w/ the partial
box.
