Now you'll never get any work taken care of!!
It was amazing how fast the internet was once I escaped dial up a few years ago.

You should be able to set up an e-mail account with your high-speed internet provider.

Had dial-up for about 10 years because I could not convince the "comptroller" (wife) to spend the money for better service until our only phone line
(buried under new siding placed on the house 5 years ago) went dead. "Phone company" guy busted his butt to find the problem; installed a new line
and mentioned an "ether net" for the house at a very reasonable price/month. "Comptroller" discovered that the cost was the same as having
a single line with "call waiting" (disconnect the computer to take a call or "Ed! Get off the computer; I want to make a call!!!) and that ALL
three computers and the phone could operate simultaneously! And at high speed! Life is better. Much better.

Hi 'nug,
Now that you're in the 'current' century with high speed internet, did you also get running water and 'lectric lights too? |

Don't forget one of those toilets that have a handle on them that you push down and it gets rid of all the crap down the pipes!
When I bought my first home computer, I was on dialup for about four days. Mainly because I bought it on a Saturday and Monday I was in contact with our local Cable TV company who offered the best service in high speed internet service. They got me all hooked up the following day, a Tuesday and I never looked back. Curt |

Gosh guys, I haven't had dial up since about 2000!
Does that mean I've been "contemporary" for a change!

At least it was rural Texas and not WV this time around....

What's this thing called 'dial-up'? Has it got something to do with pizza?

Be thankful that you're not on a 'party-line' with dial up. Our first phone -back when in 'real country' rural NW Texas was a party line.
Imagine that now!

When we lived up in northern WV, we started out with a party line out in the boonies where sunshine was trucked in weekly.
That was something else......

Everytime I'm in the grocery store anymore, I feel like I've gone back on a party line, what with all the people constantly on their cellphones up and
down the aisle!
