Hi, Trying to find the value on this for a older neighbor. The left side of the slide is stamped DGFM-(FMAP) and the right side Sist. Colt Cal 11.25 Model 1927. The serial number is 106685. It retains approx. 70% of the original bluing, never refinished, no import stamps. Mechanically excellent. Included is a good condition holster. Flap is stamped US, rear is stamped Grafton& Knight Co. 1943. Thanks for any help, Jim |

This is a Colt-licensed 1911-A1 pistol made in Argentina before WWII by an Argentine government factory.
These are exact copies of the Colt 1911-A1, made in a factory Colt helped set up and operate and are known as the Model 0f 1927. These were produced up until about 1948 in Argentina. These were issue guns for the Argentine military and police. The holster is a USGI WWII Model 1916 Dismounted (Infantry) hip holster, and is not the type of holster the Argentines used for their guns. (In other words, the holster doesn't "go" with the gun). Value of the gun is "about" $400 in that condition. |

Thanks for the help. I thought it would be worth a little more since it is original, most I have seen have been refinished.

According to my information the pistol is POST WWII and was actually made in 1960 during a production of 2,066 pistols starting with serial # 106329 to 108394.
My information states that the Sistema Model 1927 was made up until 1966 and ended at/near serial # 112494.
(Source of this information is "Military Pistols of Argentina by Alex Gherovci, self published in 1994) Being an original, non import marked, I would think the value would be just slightly higher then the $400 mentioned simply because there are collectors who want pistols that are not refinished.
