Also. there is a crack in the stock. Question is...How can I remove the Firing pin removal tool and put it in the new stuff. If I can't remove...any idea where I could buy one? Thanks, Axel

There was a place that actually sold replacement rings, but finding the sleeve, or making one of correct diameter is hard to do. Your best bet is to strip the stock, attempt to get it looking as close to "normal" and possible and fix the crack.

The part is three pieces the two "donuts" and the "tube" that runs through the stock and is peened at both ends to hold the "donuts" in place. You need to roll back the peened edges on one side or the other. Find the one with the most lip and take a punch or small flat screwdriver and work your way around the edge tapping smartly with a hammer until you've unrolled the peened portion of the tube and then drive it out. With luck the donut on the opposite side will come out at the same time. If not, you have to CAREFULLY pry them out. To reinstall, reverse the procedure making sure that the distance between the donuts is equal to or less than the old stock. Since stocks vary in thickness, if it is greater than the old, you have to counter bore the holes in the stock to the point that the seperation is equal to or less than the old stock. To repeen the ends, I place the side you didn't unpeen on top of a ballpeen hammer and place a ballpeen hammer on top of the unpeened portion and then hit smartly to peen the lip back over the donut. It is a lot of work to save a few pennies worth of metal, but finding a replacement set is a bear.
