It's been cleaned and touched up, but the bore is still rougher than 5:00 shadow. I picked it up for the crest and matching numbers more than anything else. It's pictured with a refurb'ed bayonet, notice the paint on some of the parts....

The font size threw me, it sure doesn't look anything like any other Czech numbering I've ever seen, yet it retains the crest and other markings. It made me think of a captured piece, but not a refurb in the sense of the RC 98's. It doesn't appear to have been ground off and restamped. If it has been, they did an incredible job of removing/hiding the original numbers. For a $100 VZ with a crest and matching numbers, I went ahead and grabbed it. I added the sling (an SG Jap repro sling) and bayonet.

Mine has no crest and no E-lion-date acceptance marking. Anyway, VZ.24 = my fav. Yours is handsome fer sure!
