I am in process of modifying a set, but any suggestions would be helpful.
I also have a Zom 451(BRNO) straight pull that needs an disasembly guide if anyone has one?
Thanks in advance!

Any insights? (no pun intended!)

There may be 2 different sized scope rails on the Romanian 22, but the larger rail is much less common.
This sight lists the Kwik Site KSN-TO22 will work: www.surplusrifle.com/shooting/glassinga196922/index.asp There is also an earlier Kwik Site mount that works well. Cheap Weaver mounts from Walmart work very well on my Romanian after aggressively squashing the mounts' rail-clamp end thinner in a vice. Others report good success over-tightening inexpensive BSA scope+mounts onto the rail. Get a scope that will clear the rear open sight. |

The old weaver top off mounts with a Weaver b4 scope fit nicely on my 1984 M69, have another to put on the 1970 m69 not sure of the fit.

Romanian 22 Weaver base | ||
|
Try the Weaver 60-A one piece mount base on your Romanian bolt 22. I have done this on Rom. 22 rifles before, no problem getting a good boresight and final
zero. With this base you can use Weaver style highpower rings. Can provide details and photos on request.

One thing to keep in mind, those are not scope base grooves in the 69. They are there for some part of the manufacturing process. They sort of look like
grooves and are in the right place but they are not. Close examination will show them to not be undercut as a scope groove would be but they are actually
perfectly square to the reciever. You can really tighten the rings up and they should hold but no guarantee. I build guns and do a bit of engraving and used
one of my gravers to create the undercut on one of mine. The other one I have is just clamped on and hoping for the best.

My 1977 m1969 certainly does have a dove-tail mount, but it is not 3/8. More like 5/16. It is not a square sided block but an undercut dove-tail. The only
rings I've been able to get to fit were a set of steel see-through weavers that were willing to be cranked down really small to fit...but the see-through
part was no good as a good cheek weld was impossible. More like a chin weld. As for my little girl shooting it, she couldn't get any of her face on the
stock, so I took the rings back off until I can locate something that will fit that does not raise the line of sight so high.

I believe I heard Millet mounts will fit maybe with some minor tweaking.

I wound up buying a pair of Millets that I was able to grind of about 1/16 from each side right above the claw to allow them to close down to 5/16 and now
I'm set. TP00709 is the part number on the only rings they make that I could find which would fit...others may but you'd have to crush them in a vice
and doing this evenly to both rings is next to impossible.
