I'm still tinkering with loads for my '42 Husqvarna. I recently put an NOS barrel on it and a 4X32 scout scope. So I tested it Sunday afternoon with some Hornady 100-gr PSP just to try to come up with a practice load having mild recoil and decent accuracy. I used 42 gr of IMR 4350. All the groups I didn't screw up on were less than 1 inch! (100-yds off a sandbag.) I was concerned about the amount of freebore, but I guess it's not a factor for this particular load. Now I just need a taller front sight so I can zero the thing with open sights and practice for our next service rifle match!
Also had great luck with Hornady 129 gr. Need to try out some 140's and 160's I have. Tried some 85-gr Sierra Varminters, but their accuracy was not as good - best of 1.5 inches. Maybe that is the long freebore issue?
