Romanian PSL 4x scope reticle question... |
Lead | |
|
Looked at one at a local gun shop. This might be a dumb question, but as I viewed through it, the reticle appeared way down left and low. Enough for me to do
the blink my eyes, shake my head, and look through it again thing. Is it just way out of adjustment, or is something broken inside? They wanted 999- for it.
I know J&G has them for less, but was giving it the one over and this outta whack reticle looked odd. Thanks.

The reticle is not centered on the russian scopes. When you move for windage & elevation, the reticle moves in your field of view.

I think he's talking about the whole rifle. Anyone who asked $999 for a PSL scope would be laughed out of town. The whole "kit" however would
sell for that price.

Yeah, I was talking about the whole rig.

The reticle should still not be that out of whack. It should be centered left to right... maybe a little high or low while still able to use the range finder.

Thanks guys. I've never looked through a Russian type reticle up close, only seen 'em represented online and they were always centered left to right
and higher in the picture. I think also what had me thinking something was wrong with it, was that the rifle was on a consignment rack, next to a bunch of
bubba butchered rifles to include a badly molested high numbered 1903 Springfield. So the consignment rack can be a garden for horrible thoughts...

It's a tough call, because some goober before you could have looked at it, cranked the turret knob and failed to return it to zero. That would offset it to
one side. Unfortunately there's no way to tell unless you've zeroed the scope. If the turret is on any other number than zero, then the chances are
somebody just cranked the knob.

Thanks SA58, that makes sense.
