When i first got it, it was piercing the primers with new Winchester .310 dia new ammo. I took the bolt apart and you should have seen the end of the firing on the end that hits the primer. Looked kinda like the end of a chain saw file, the end you hold. Well I did some "flat" file and fine finishing then adjusted it. This morning I fired 2 rounds. 46.0 grains of H-4895 pushing a 150 gr308fmj bullet. No target shooting understand. Just checking firing pin performance. Wow! did I do a good job. Primers look plum good.shotout

I took a little off and adjusted back as far as it will go. It still puts a good dent in the primer, nice and smooth and not pierced. Maybe some one had used corrosive primers and did not clean it good. These 2 times I fired today make only 5 times I have fired it after buying it. I didn't want fire it with it piercing primers. Now I can burn some powder and use some of the 250, .308 FMJ'S that was gave me.shotout

Posts: 3639 (06/30/09 08:54 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Love my M28's but I am just hung up on the M27's and I seem to be much better at shooting them for some unknown reason? I have always traded parts being afraid to file and change firing pins temper in some way. Where I seem to have problems on firing pin protrussion is when the pin seems to run out of usable threads before it is adjusted into the cocking piece far enough to check out on the guages in spec, it tends to be that they are long and extend to far. I have never filed one so let us know if that works for you if you will please. Good Luck! Bill ELT

All the ready made ammo I have is 310 and 311. My Finn is a tight 308. I have both size pins with my die. and plenty of 308 FM J's. I'll update from time to time.shotout
