Mine came with over 200 rounds of surplus ammo. I've been researching the gun and now I'm really confused about what ammo to use in it. I 've seen references to cracked frames, high pressure submachine gun ammo, pink wrapped proof rounds, etc. etc etc. How about some straight info on the subject? What I have came packed in 70 count brown boxes stamped in red " 7.62 mmnaboje pisteletowe -70szt-" Head stamp reads "21" at 12 oclock and "55" at 6 o'clock, Who made this stuff? Is it safe to shoot in the pistol? I'm assuming it's corrosively primed, and it is berdan primed. I've fired 14 rounds through the gun and about 50% of the spent rounds have a cracked neck after firing. Is this just a relic of old brass and not a problem? I just want to shoot the gun and use the ammo I have if it's safe. Thanks for the help!!

Sounds like 50's dated stuff. Check the necks really good for cracks/splits before firing. Cull the split/cracked neck cases out of there. I had 6 boxes of the stuff and ended up with one complete box of shootable "as is" ammo. I pulled the rest down for component use in reloads. Yes, it is corrosive, it is Berdan primed. IMO, get the Romanian 7.62 ammo, it's a lot more reliable in regard to Q/C. Also, grab any and all Yugo ammo you can find. It is good stuff.

I shhot them and discard the brass. The ONLY bad ammo I've heard of was made in 1953 and came in pink wrappers. How much was real or not, I couldn't tell you. I don't let it worry me and have fun with my Tok and CZ52. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. USMC 1959-1963

Get a case of Romanian from AIM and don't look back. Commercial S&B shoots better in mine, but the Romanian surplus shoots pretty good, is completely reliable, and costs much less.

Again, corrosive. It is not as powerful as the Eastern Euro. nor as accurate. But cheap blasting ammo. S& B is the best. The Submachine gun ammo offen refered to was Czech and was green.

The Tokerov pistol of the same cartridge size shoots a bit lighter load & there are some pink wrapped loads made for Machine guns that is a bit too hot even for the CZ52. Also the 7.63 Mauser round (some Chinese made as well) is close but not the same. Using tokerov loads may result in poor extraction issues especially the chinese mauser loads of similar size. (The 7.63 mauser is a bottleneck round that looks the same but note in load tables it is NOT! Of course using a lighter load would be safe but as I said may cause extraction problems) DOC Remember, the 2nd Amendment is the 2nd most important Law our founders wrote, & only after Freedom of Speech
