Terrible way for a veteran to depart.

He wore the uniform in combat and stood up proudly for what he believed in. Even some may think he was getting a little grouchy with old age, like we are all doing, he still stood up proud for what he believed in and fought the system in an attempt to make things right with the VA and such. I admired him since reading his first post after I joined up her years ago. R.I.P. my friend. Curt

We corresponded from time to time offline from this forum. His passing shows how you can never know what God has in store for you. A guy survives combat in his youth and dies 40 years later because another motorist ran a stop sign....it's hard to understand. Rest in peace Rick Carleton.
