Is that the semi-version or the 'real deal.' In any case, a fine addition to a very nice looking collection presentation!

It's a semi. Here in the peoples republic of Illinois, we can't have the real deal. When Yugo 8mm was cheap, I laid in 10 cases. Now I regret getting
it on strippers. The owners' manual warns against shooting Turk ammo.

NICE, You'll love it. Take the manuals advise and don't use Turk (even if temped to) it's way to HOT. One suggestion if you don't mind. Put
that thing back to it's origional glory and strip the black paint off the buttstock and put it back to the natural wood color. Minwax 'Special Walnut
#224' and several coats of Tung Oil Finish is just about right. It's Christmas in June..............Enjoy, Robert

Nice MG42 John! Was this built by Century?

Thanks guys. It was built by Wise Lite arms for Century. I ordered it the day I got the flyer with its picture, almost 2 years ago. The MG 42 has always been a
favorite of mine. WV, it came with a (well) used ammo can w/ a 50 round belt, and I picked up a couple of almost new cans with 100 round belts. That should be
enough to rapidly deplete my ammo supply. If you have a line on a 8mm belt loader, I'm looking for one.

I've got a can of Yugo 7,92 on links here. I haven't had the gumption to manually de-link the rounds yet.
Congratulations on your belt fed!! That's something I would like to get hold of here one day, just to set up in the middle of the living room to admire it when SWMBO wasn't at home.

Chuck or better know as muley is alone this week can't you tell by his comments? I have been trying to contain him a little with daily phone calls to no
avail. I think he almost admitted he was getting lonely for the wife and kids last night? I hope they get home soon as he and others are trying to work him to
death. He is project rich and with the humidity down where he lives I fear for his life. We might find a puddle of sweat some day where he once was! Whoa
Chuck! Slow Down Buddy! Bill
PS Nice New Toy there now if I owned it
I would use it as a hat rack by the door when not shooting it in the drive to impress my neighbors!

WV - I finally got to shoot it today I t worked well with the belts that came with the gun which had little springy like wires connecting the links. The belts
from Aim were in 8mm ammo cans, but don't feed well. They were one piece steel clipped together - I assume 308 belts. The belts that came with the gun were
in a 308 can. I think it would be great to have a can of linked yugo 8mm, E-mail me & maybe we could work it out.

I don't have any experience with the MG-42, but I recall when I was in the Army and shooting the M-60, the first sergeant would come down the line with a
can of LSA and when you changed belts, he would lift the cover and drench everything with LSA to keep them operating. Of course our M-60's were well past
retirement age, but it kept them shooting. After a day at the range qualifying, I would come off the line with my fatiques saturated with LSA.

May have to get some LSA. The instructions say it runs better 'wet' , but cautions against WD-40, which is flammable. I'll bet that's even more
of an issue with the real deal.

The problem with WD-40 is that it gums the action up. As it gets hot it tends to gel up. A spray type of oil like 'Rem Oil' is best or just plain old 3
and 1 oil which is what I use. Best, Robert

Nice MG42 !! You might have some luck finding the belt loader on www.manions.com in the firearms section they usually have MG42 items frequently.
