I have never seen one. But it sure looks nasty with that short blade and retangular shape of the blade as it guts a person.

These were made by many different companies such as:
DELAIRE 31 BESSET, coutellerie THIERS ASTIER PRODON THIERS PATAUD L.PRADEL 41 GONON Some of these were also just marked "le vengeur de 1870" (The Avenger of 1870) Patrick
Vive La République Française, Lebel y Poilu
Verdun 1916: "Ils ne Passeront pas" "On les aura!" Mle.1886 M.93 "Lebel" |

As far as i know was there at least 14 different makers marks on theese, and two different types too.
The one in the picture is a type 1. Only think it's weird that there's such a small group of collectors who collects theese. |
