Just got my C&R FFL! |
Lead | |
|
I've toyed with the idea of getting a C&R FFL for years, and I finally did it! Just for the record, I sent for the application in late March, and it
arrived after about 3 weeks. I sent it out right away; my credit card was charged only 5 or 6 days later, and the license arrived in yesterday's mail.

Congrats on you getting it. It would help if you posted what state you are in, as it seems some states take different amount of time to issue the license and
each state has their own agent who does all the paperwork it seems. You can buy up all that is left out there now. I let my license lapse back in February
after having it for two go arounds. Running out of space to store them and not much neat coming into the country the last couple of years. I still have
several, no close to a dozen, rifles that I still have to see if they even shoot! Good luck with the license. Make copies and sign the copies, not the
original, and mail it to all the big distributors so you have it on file with them and ordering then is just a matter of picking up the phone and having your
plastic money card handy. Careful with that plastic money card, as they have been known to melt down with milsurp purchases!

welcome to the board always great to see someone else join our ranks like Curt said, don't be surprised if your wallet stays empty I know mine has
be sure to get yourself a bound book to record all your acquisitions, and any eventual depositions the most current 03 regulations/publications should be mailed out to you within a few more weeks even tho there may be slimmer pickings than 5-6 years ago there's still enough out there to make that $30 'fee' seem like a drop in the proverbial bucket good luck, and keep us posted Bob |

I'm in Colorado. From what I've read, my total wait of 2 months from the ordering of the form to the receipt of the license is fairly quick.
I actually don't anticipate buying that much from the big distributors such as Century, J&G, etc. The golden days of imports seem to be pretty much over, unfortunately. I'll be using my license primarily for the purchase of WW2 and earlier military pistols. Thank you for the advice in regards to copies, I'm making them as I type this! I'll mail off copies to the various distributors right away. Who knows, maybe things will start looking up again... |

Hi Bob,
I just ordered a bound book from http://fflboundbook.com/. My understanding is that only acquisitions made using my FFL need to be recorded in it, not any firearms that I acquired previous to the issuance of the FFL. On the other hand, I must record all C&R firearms that I dispose of regardless of whether or not they were acquired before or after I received my FFL. Is that correct? Thanks, Doug |

Just got my bound book! Time to "test it out", so to speak! I think I'll send a copy of my FFL to Empire Arms and J&G...

I got mine earlier in the month and broke it in with a Romanian Tokarev that I am hopefully taking to the range tonight for the first time.

It turned into a quick 50 round session in the drizzle on the rifle range, but it is fun to shoot and seemed quite accurate at 25 yards.
I was also impressed by the solid thump it gave hitting the 100 yard berm, that little bullet is moving. I liked it enough to immediately order more ammo and a couple of extra mags, I have a feeling this C&R thing will get expensive.

"I have a feeling this C&R thing will get expensive." right you are! glad that you got a chance to give 'er a spin
your range report reminds the first time I took a TT33 with me to the local indoor range those 'little bullets' were sparking at least a foot high up the metal backstop at 50 yds. the owner even came out of his office up front to see what I was shooting and politely asked me to leave it at home next time I made it easy on both of us and never went back it's an easy choice when you make you make/own outdoor range
