She is alive and well as far as I know and posts an occasional line or two on another forum I belong to. She has work responsibilities and is very busy! Great
gal and has many thoughts and ideas that mimic my mind or least what I call one! Old Yoteshooter and I bounced bids off each other for awhile there and I
kind of guess his significant other put the kibosh on Milsurps for him. I know after George and I kind of communicated that we shouldn't bid against one
another like we were I suddenly found my posts blocked from his end and just from what he wrote suspected the above scenario. Bill

The 4-fer $100 Turks were the best deals. 4 Turkish mausers, 4 ammo pouches and 4 turkish bayonets all for a hundred bucks. I doubt we will ever see that
again.

Aw Bill you reminded me of the SOG deals! The guy I got my M27RV from told me he got it in a 3 Finns for $120 special they ran! The other 2 guns? He got a
double sling slot M28 and one of the earliest 28/30's I ever laid eyes on! Not a bad deal huh? Aah the Good Old Days! Before my time Honest! Bill

I don't consider myself an old time member, but I have not been around much in a few years. Back in the day I saved enough to buy several milsurps a month
just by bring a bag lunch, not buying sodas or coffee, and not having cable TV etc! Within the last 7 years I acquired a "financial advisor", bought
a house, and have other expenses. No money for milsurps. My lunch money is still fungible
... but it now takes months to buy anything.
Also my closets were so full, I had to stop dropping by here to slow down my buying.
The owner of a local gun store told me there are very few customers these days. Probably the economy and low dollar / high prices. Ah the days of the Century / Aztec / PWArms price war! This forum and its members is still fantastic though despite the price increase in milsurps!!!

He was. He got to the point it seemed he considered this his own personal anti-Bush, anti-America forum. That was well before the election too. Well, he should be happy now. His rants ran loonnnggg too. He could really kill a thread. Is he the same as Kivaari? I swear their postings are nothing alike. If that be the case he must have kept the one handle just for venting... Yeah, it's nice to recall the names that walked a ways with us. Kevan9mm was out of Arizona (Phoenix, I think). Kivaari, a totally different (and in a good way) person, is a Texan, if memory serves.

Anyone else remember Crazy Cruffler? I think his name was Tony... there are definitely a lot of old names on this thread. A lot of
oldie moldies!

I think I bought my first 91/30 off of Crazy Cruffler if I recall he was from SC ,I'm not a old timer compared to some . I joined in 2003 and I know I have
wondered into other firearms related forums and have found other things to keep me busy I do browse here from time to time but dont post much

Speaking of nefarious former members, who remembers that guy who fabricated a phony persona on this forum, I think he called himself "Calvert". He
finally was exposed as a fraud on another gun website.
Edit. Kevan 9mm was from northern AZ, either Flagstaff or close by.

Yesh, I sadly remember Calvert. He sure had a good thing going for a while and took us all by surprize when it was uncovered that he was a fraud and not in
Iraq.

Wasn't "Calvert" supposedly in Blackwater or something? I definitely do remember him... seemed to know a lot about M14s if
I recall correctly.

ran into rick veal a few years ago at a gunshow in columbia. he said he didn't get on the boards much anymore, and didn't seem too happy about the
prices of japanese milsurps, either. that was the only time i met him, and we only had a brief conversation.
don yockey started a yesterdays weapons forums on ezboard. when yuku took over, the forum was moved to it's own server. there was some kind of falling out at the board, and don moved back to yuku and re-opened a yesterdays weapons forum here. then, there is also the yesterdays weapons forum on it's own server, too. seems some people moved to boards that are smaller where they have buds that post. I see some on other boards posting, some just post on the small boards they call home. One i remember is redolds. I spoke with him last fall, and he'd been laid off and was looking for work. maybe the economy has been keeping people away. y'all have a good day, Keith |

I remember a guy way way back that went by the name Ranger. He was hilarious, full of it, but hilarious nonetheless. Every mosin he got was property of Zetsev
and so on. I believe Okman attached himself to this guy just to keep him honest. Their conversations used to crack me up. Their is another guy, EricOKC that I
have not heard from in a while. I remember checking the different forums each day and being awed by some of the stuff that was coming in back in the day. As
someone posted earlier, I couldn't afford to buy my meager collection these days and still get a little surprised at how much most of my milsurps have gone
up in value.

I well remember Oklahomaman as an interesting poster and as having a very wonderful seeming life overall. He frequently was posting about some very interesting
firearms, most of which were of particular interest to me.
I also miss the female perspective that Emul8 used to provide, though I don't recall if she was the same one that Mtn. Doc was referring too a couple of posts up. Mausermoron (Colin Webster) has also been absent for a very long time, and I was especially interested in his input as he was the total expert (or nearly so) on the Argentine Mauser's, having written the book. I spent allot of years here reading mostly and not posting much at all. I've only become a frequent poster (perhaps 3/4ths or more of my total) in the last 1 1/2 years or so, since I've been unemployed and have had the extra time to do so. I really don't frequent the MN forum much, though like all the forums I check in occasionally just of learn something new, but it seems this topic has become more general and perhaps should have originated on the Parallax View forum. |

Calvert1 was a huge disappointment to me.
I'm big on trustworthy behavior and he crapped on us all. Good riddance to him and I hope he got professional mental help. Octa aka Emul8 was a good site moderator as was Russell aka Oklahomaman. I don't know why they left but they are missed by me. "I forgot her name, but there was a gal amongst us years ago that said she was equipped to carry a M44 concealed in her cleavage." I seriously doubt that was Octa. She didn't seem the type that would say something like that.

I've been mainly a reader and not a poster, since about 03. I was really getting into the forum when they blocked us at work. No "weapons
related" sites. Commies. Well, I'm laid off now, with 15 other of their employees, so I can look anywhere I want while looking for work!
