Serbian M-70 Kalsahnikov bayonet |

This one served me throughout the unfortunate Yugoslav conflict... The bayo itself seems to be a rather typical one, although it came with an unusual flatside
M-70 rifle that I promptly discarded for a beautiful vintage M-64...

Kupreschak is carved into wood of AK -its well known Serbian name. Its a yugoslavian AKM 1974 bayonet.

That's a nice M-72 LMG... I prefer them with milled actions... I've heard the theory that the lanyard's ment to improve the grip. However, one would have to hold the bayo in the upside-down position which is rather awkward. Anyway, the M-70 is a really poor piece of combat equipment and I seriously doubt they have seen any use other than cutting wire and driving nails. Your M-70AB2 indeed has some serbian motifs carved in the forearm... I disagree with Andy about the interpretation of the cyrillic text. To the best of my knowledge, "Kupreshak" is not a person's name but an adjective derived from Kupres, a name of a small town in Bosnia, indicating that your AK had been used by someone from there. Wikipedia says the population of Kupres was just 800 in 2006. Here's the link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kupres_Republike_Srpske |
