I have always wanted a .22 Hornet and love Mausers so I was excited to see it. I would like to buy a classic Hornet from days gone by but that will have to wait a couple of years until I can dig in to my retirement stash. Thanks.

Posts: 86 May 8 12 9:05 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I've has a Zastava Mini-Mauser for maybe 20 years. It dates back to when Interarms was marketing them. It's in .223 Rem. but to be honest I haven't spent enough time with to be able to reliably assess it's accuracy. I believe it went out of production for a number of years, then re-emerged with the Remington 799, Charles Daley and I think maybe even the Browning A-Bolt name on it.

Posts: 13330 05/19/13 11:10 AM Forum Site Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Zastava is (the former) Yugoslavia's primary arms works located at Kragujecac in present day Serbia. Their existence as an arms works goes well back into the 1800s. They were responsible for the bulk of Yugoslav Mauser production from it's introduction with the model 1924 prior to WWII, then after WWII making the model 24/47, other Yugoslav refurbished rifles and the M48 series rifles, Yugoslavia's sniper rifles beginning with the experimental M48/52 and other military and civilian arms right through to present day. Depending upon when you are referring to (I am not that familiar with their modern pieces) with that interruption in production, remember there was the break up of the former Republic of Yugoslavia ("FRY") , the 'troubles' of the 90s and being bombed by NATO in those days. All things considered, it's no small wonder they are still producing. I just thought a little history might be of interest. Concerning the Browning A-bolt, I have one in .22 and it is a most remarkable little rifle. It is not Zastava made, however.
