This Imperial 1917 dated P.08, serial 182y was taken into Weimar service as noted by the 1920 permission/property date. It could had been used by Weimar military or police, but does not bear Weimar police markings. It definitely was taken into Early Nazi Era police use. Note the addition of the Schiwy sear safety , a Prussian State Police requirement pursuant to Aug. 30, 1933 directive. There is also the remnants of a magazine safety, a police requirement also, but does not show in the photos. The original magazine for an Imperial 1917 would have a wood bottom piece. The magazine with this pistol is aluminum bottom serialed 182 (without the letter suffix), police eagle accepted, also numbered 2 (indicating reserve magazine).
Pistol was acquired with a Police type holster, dated 1941, Eagle B accepted, A. Fischer, Berlin manufacturer.
