It had a lot of really dried on grease that was really stubborn. It's a pretty nice non-import marked rifle. The bore is really great too. Great lands and lots of shine. The first pic is before cleaning and the second pic is after. I'm hoping to get her out to the range soon and I'll post a range report once I get a chance to shoot her. Oh, one question.... Anyone know where I can get a cleaning rod for it?

Posts: 982 Jul 1 07 6:15 AM Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	This one is scrubbed. Nothing much on it in the way of markings besides the "circle z" on the receiver. It does have a nice feel to it when holding it. I did manage to shoot it yesterday and it wasn't so good though. First thing I found is that this sucker will really rock your world . Since it's so light I knew the recoil would be pretty good, but I wasn't expecting it to be tooth-rattling. I have one heck of a lump on my shoulder from it, guess it's time for a recoil pad. Also, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it. It put rounds all over the place when I used '53 Yugo, and did slightly better with '70's Romanian. I double checked the action screws but no difference. Guess I'll just have to play with it to see if it'll shoot better.

Posts: 795 Jul 1 07 6:21 PM Veteran member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	i have one that launches rounds all over the county. when i run a bore brush through it, it feels "looser" than in my other wz29's. the bore looks good, just a little over sized, it seems. be careful with the steel case romanian ammo in these, i also have one scrubbed wz29 that won't seal with it. i get a puff of gas going backwards every time i've tried to shoot the romanian ammo in it. y'all have a good day, Keith

I didn't have any sealing problems with the Romanian ammo either. Never had any blowback, but I didn't fire a whole lot of rounds through it either.

Posts: 1632 Jul 3 07 2:45 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The handful of WZ29s I've had over the years ALL shot poorly. They appear to have been heavily used in Spanish Civil War. Bores looked fairly good but throat wear was excessive. Ammo standards were probably not good in that war - I bet a lot of .318 J (old stocks of German 8mm Mannlicher ammo) was probably used that would result in a lot of flame etching wear on the throats.

Just wondering since I thought Poles were well made. Are most shot out? It would shoot high if a true Mauser at 100. Hitting 300 requires such a flight pattern. I know your talking spread here.??? just inquiring since weren't these sort of Czech designed hybrid?

Posts: 1 Jul 16 08 10:34 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have one that is a low # that matches on the bolt, receiver and stock. It has a poor bore and shoots about 5" at 100 with good surplus ammo. It has a small rampant lion on the bolt knob. It is scrubbed.
