Where are you located? You don't have to be specific, regional info works.... I'd like to hit the range at Stonewall Jackson if it's still in nice shape and gas prices drop into the realm of reasonable again, but that's a good 4 hour drive from here. There's a range at Beechfork Lake outside of Huntington, but it's a scarey place on the weekends based on what I've seen and heard. I went there once in the late summer (early September) and the unsafe shooters were in full bloom. We packed up and left before noon. You can't walk on safely at or near the bench area for the piles of fired steel cases no one seems to clean up. There's also a nice, well maintained range near RD Bailey Lake where we've held the Southern WV shoot a few times.

We live in southern WV near the R.D. Baily range Chuck spoke of. Check out the pics Chuck posted of our last two yearly meets there, they are further down in this forum. October is shot for me with events at work as well as hunting season activities. September is tied up almost every weekend with family things. I've got a bass tournament this weekend that we've already paid for the entry fee. It's hard to do stuff in the Fall of the year for me. I get one weekend for Knob Creek that the family knows not to mess with trying to schedule anything. What about December? Good & cold then though, right?

Dec. should be good , all the hunters , like me , SHOULD have theirs sighted in by then and the ranges should be fairly open. Y'all know I'll suggest the range at R.D. Bailey ,it's only 10 mi. for us ! I guess I'll have to drink a 12 pack of coors light for "grenades" for my milsbomb launcher on my wire wrap , Stan , you , I'm sure will bring the other grenades to launch !
