I'm would be in too if I could find a nearby hotel. It must be the beginning of hunting season that weekend because all the hotels are booked already!

I'm trying to get hold of the person in charge of the event
and get some questions answered. We got all kinds of motels in the area. DON'T STAY AT THE HONEY IN THE ROCK MOTEL. Cockroaches carry side arms there! There is a catch and release pond at the range for the ones who may bring the kids or betterhalf, or in my case those who can.t hit a bull in the butt with a bat. I do know this is a NON sactioned fun match with a $20.00 entry fee. The club would like to hold some sactioned matches, but can't find anyone to run them. email is the same. mtnstDEW |

The 18th is tied up for me here....the bass club "Classic" tournament happens then. That's my time with dad & I ain't messing with that!  It's also the culminating event for a season of fishing that starts in March and ends in September each year. I actually finished up 15th in the club standings this time around!! That's a far site better than the 29th & 30th spots I've held for the past 4 years!  Especially when you consider that there were only 28 club members.....  Todd, I sent you a note in regard to to the December blast-o-rama via the ez-messenger. The weekend of the third is the transition between buck season and doe season, although I don't understand why hotels would be booked in Mingo or Wyoming Counties then as there is no modern rifle season allowed in those counties. Unless, they are banking on being able to take something with a bow. Great bow hunting in that part of the state if you can find land to hunt on legally, not that having written permission stops alot of those trespassing low-life pond scum suckin' clods.  |

Dave , not to be retorical, but long time no hear! Good to hear from you again !, sorta wondered what happened. If I don't have to go to VA. on the 17th I'll make it to Beckley.
I'll need directions to the Beckley Gun Club. I'll bring my "U.S. Property" marked Savage Lee Enfield . I'm not too good but that rifle makes up the difference for me!  Dec. 3rd sounds good to me for a December "Blast-O-Rama" !!! If y'all like R.D.Bailey Range y'all know I'll go along with that! If anyone needs a motel room check out the Compton Inn in Gilbert,WV. or the Justonian Motel in Justice , WV. both are close to the R.D. Bailey range. George "Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition"

George, of the two hotels, is the Compton a little nicer than the Justonian?

Chuck , The Compton is about 5 Mi. further from the range but is the nicer of the two. The Justonian is right next door to a rowdy night club too! Of course some may like that!

I stayed at the Compton the last time, it's a nice little motel.
Everything worked, rooms have a small frige. and is kept clean. Stan.

Im in for December 3rd.
Can someone suggest starting times and ending times? I will room at the Compton per your recommendation. Will be coming in on Friday night and going home Saturday night. I work every Sunday monring! Looking forward to meeting you guys. Pete |

Well, Chuck, I appreciate that. I am available on the 17th, but I bet that may be getting late in the month for folks. If folks are open to moving it to then, then great, but if its better to stay with the 3rd, then yall go for it.

The closer I get to Christmas, the more "crowded" the weekends get as far as scheduled events are concerned.
Not that I'm that busy of a person, but with kids, and my work, there are alot of holiday programs and performances that have to get taken care of. Now the time in between Christmas & New Year is wide open for me!

George, sorry for the delay on directions. Your best bet would be to get off the Beaver exit 125 of I64, Follow the food signs to Beaver. Turn left at the light on to Rt19 south, follow for
5.5 miles and turn right on to Cherry Creek Rd for .2 of a mile, and turn right on to Blue Jay Six Rd., travel 2.2 miles and turn right on to Whitby Rd., go 1.3 miles to top of mtn and make a right. You will then just follow the signs. Whatever you do DO NOT, ask the funny lookin' kid with the banjo for directions. This wil be a FUN ONLY shoot, no presure, no life or death situations, hopefully just a lot of gun guys having fun. It starts at 9:00 am and there is a $20.00 entry. |

I made my hotel reservations so I am officially in for the Winterfest Blast-O-Rama on December 3.
So, do you think I can shoot 10,000 rounds in a day?!
