Now that's a true "gas pain".
I had to travel over into Ohio, across the river from Huntington this morning to take care of some business and gas was $3.49 there as well as $3.46 to $3.49 all around I-64 on the WV side of the river.

It's been $3.49/gal. around here for quite some time! That is the lowest I can find around.

It miracuously dropped back to $3.29 overnight across the river in KY.

A few years ago when the prices jumped the FEDS were around here and fined one store I know for sure ! Apparently they had just gotten in a load at the
"old" price and they jumped the price on it beyond what was legal. I don't know how they work all that but in the end the feds control it ALL ! !
! I guess they like to keep us guessing as to how they work the numbers. That way we can't contest what they do being we don't know how they do it.

As far as I know, I'll be there, unless something comes up that I can't dodge, or gas hits $4.00 per gallon.
I've got a few more plasma sales I can make in order to afford the trip.

 By the way gas is $3.62 per gallon here in town think I will slow
down and run 60 for economy on the way and try not to get run over!

Holding steady at $3.58-9/10 to $3.60 on the border with KY.
I have reached my limit regarding disposable income. 
With the commute to work, I am not able to stick cash back in my wallet like I had been doing up until last Fall, when things got incredibly crazy with the surges in fuel prices. If we make it to the shoot, I'm thinking it is the last one for a long time here.

$4 in the coming week is the rumor. It's a major deal to go anywhere. That along with a $700 vet bill for Topper the dog who may have cancer in his
belly, and we are feeling pretty tight this week. Todd, I dont want you to come over for no show event. I am going to suggest we postpone till fall, maybe.
What do you think?

I think a postponement would be a great thing at this time.
June is going to be wild here with the work year wrapping up and other travel plans, July is a possibility for me. Maybe we can call this May3rd shoot the Shawn Memorial Shoot and everyone not plan on going.

Things are bad all around with the fuel prices going up! I don't know if its better to live in the city with public transportation and all the urban
problems or in the country like where we live. We have to go 25 mi. rnd. trip to a grocery store! Otherwise we pay a premium for things at the little store
down the road! But with a Shotgun, a rifle, and a 4wheel, lets' forget the 4x4 they eat to much gas, how bout an ATV, and a country boy can survive! A
horse of course would be O.K. like the fellow who rides to work on his horse in Charleston,WV. I saw on WSAZ and CNN ! Drop something the government likes to
drop on us! Let them clean up that mess too !

Hey guys, we are OK to go if there is a shoot. At least I will be there. I will check later on this week to see what the conclusion is. A postpone is fine with
me as well, I am not set on going.
If we do go, do any of you happen to have a spare SKS return piston and spring that go underneath the rear sight base? I will also be in need of a couple more parts but am unsure as to what just yet. I believe a sear spring, and possibly even a sear. Also I guess I will need a gas tube as well. I got a Romanian SKS today for a cheap price that was incomplete and I put it together from other whole SKS parts to try it out and see what the deal was. Obviously the gas tube that was on it is too short and is letting gas escape as it only fires single shot.. with another gas tube on it it fires semi auto most of the time. |

Sorry guys, I won't be able to make it this time. I just bought a new place and I'm in the middle of fixing it up so I can move in.

summer ! ! ! Late July , get that central air crankin' ! LOL Hope you have lots of back windows, I've got dibs on the kitchen window! the sink is good
