When? 9 AM, Third Friday every month.
What Qualifies? Any surplus military battle rifle AS ISSUED. This excludes Sniper Rifles and National Match Rifles. If it has a sporter stock, after market trigger, optics, or has been glass bedded, it doesnt meet the AS ISSUED requirement. Examples: 1903 Springfield, 1903-A3 Springfield, various Mausers, M1 Rifle, M1 Carbine, various Mosin Nagants, various Enfields, FN-FAL, various Krag-Jorgensens, French MAS, Schmidt Rubin K-31, Japanese Arisakas, various SKSs (snicker), and on and on
Ammo? If you use military surplus ammunition or cast bullet loads, you achieve a high nostalgia rating and your scores will be given a 5% bonus.
Course of Fire? This is intended to be a fun shoot to exercise old military battle rifles. Its benchrest - so we dont over-exercise old bodies.
A sighting in period will be provided and the course will consist of four, five-shot strings on the NRA 100-Yard Small Bore Target. Each string will will be tabulated for both group size and score.
The four strings are followed by a Battle Rattle. Five (5) rounds from any position at the firing line including bench rest. You have 30-seconds to fire five rounds for score!
There are three winner categories High Score, Smallest Group and High Score Battle Rattle.
