I pull one of the bullets and dump the powder, I then take the empty case and hold it over a steel nail (not galvanized), and detonate the primer. The nail will be coated with the residue of the primer. I keep an eye on the nail for a few days to a week to see if there's any rust. If there is no rust it's non-corrosive. Some peole use steel wool also. Tmygun

Corrosive and non-corrosive can be found in both types. Our M2 ammo for the 30-06 Springfield rifles and the Garand were all Boxer primed, but were corrosive up until around 1954 or so. The Swede 6.5X55 and the Swiss GP-11 7.5X55 are both Berdan primed and are NON-corrosive. So don't ever get the idea that Berdan primers are always corrosive and Boxer primers are not. Some people automatically make that connection, but they are very WRONG! Curt

I guess that's a good reason I should check it, whether berdan or boxer, with the nail test now that I know what the nail test is. and I did think boxer was always noncorrosive. Thanks for clearing that up.

Even though the cases aren't relodable, those plastic boxes would be great for those of us that do reload 9X18. I make my cases from 9mm lugar. Just run them through the sizing die and trim 1mm off. I just wish I could afford to get one of those CZ-82's to go with the ammo order.
