It's an original copy of Bureau of Mines Technical Papers #188 - Corrosion Under Oil Films With Special Reference to the Cause and Prevention of After Corrosion in Firearms, Dr. Wilbert J. Huff, Government Printing Office, 1922, price five cents (!).
Hatcher did a good job of summarizing Dr. Huff's work, so far as application to the practical rifleman goes, but there is a great deal more to the paper, which details the technical approach taken in answering the basic question and also gives some very pertinent references demonstrating the state of knowledge about the topic both in the U.S. and abroad at that time.
As the basic issue of corrosive ammunition is with us still, and as there is considerable misinformation being circulated about the matter, I'd like to know whether any of you would be interested in a reprint of the paper. I've never done a reprint, but am fairly sure that the copyright has long expired (I will verify this), and also feel that many of you would be as happy to have a copy of this very fundamental work as I am, after so many years.
What say ye?
