Re: Question about your name

I have always been an avid hunter. The biggest deer I ever killed was with a S/W 586 .357 mag. All my buddies at work started calling me gunslinger, so, when I discovered this sight I tried gunslinger but had to add 586 to claim it.

Well mine is my nicknme that my little sister has been calling me since we were little and it is no streach of the imagination where she came up with it since I used to bare an uncanny resemblence to him. My signature line is just a little quote from an Engligh class I picked up and enjoyed, but I change it every now and again.

Re: Question about your name

Way before I got into guns, I was (and still am), an avid baseball fan. Steve Dalkowski was a pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles' Minor League system from 1957 until 1965. Dalkowski is a completely unlikely legend, only 5'9" and weighing in at 160 Lbs, along with wearing really thick glasses. But Steve could throw 110 mph+ (hence my 110 suffix). Now, if he could control his pitches, he might have been one of the greatest pitchers ever. But he didn't, instead being plagued with tremendous wildness. For example, during one season, in 170 innings, he struck out 262...and also walked 262. Amazingly, he never hurt his arm by throwing. Instead, during Spring Training, 1963, one Roger Maris (you might know him from something else he did

The "r" is the first letter of my first name. The rest of it is my family name.

Re: Question about your name

Hi all:I got my name from the fact that the first rifle I ever bought myself was a Mini-30 and from there I started collecting 7.62 x (insert cartridge length of choice).I added Cavalier as it means a gentleman trained in the use of arms (Noun) or marked by offhand dismissal of important matters(adjective) , so that term fits depending on my answers to questions. sometimes I'm very serious about my arms collecting
I'm the one who uses Si vis pacem, para bellum as my signature line. I got it from the recent release of the Punisher (where it is misspoken), and I use it to remind myself to be ever watchful of the evil deeds that are done around me and if I don't wan't to be sucked into them I must prepare to fight. SIG P226 40SW |
Re: Question about your name

My father was a policeman in this city (The city i still live in) for 28 years. He was a fan S&W handguns. I have four handguns that my father carried as duty guns at one time or another. I got the first from him as a Christmas present when I was 18 years old, a Model 66 S&W revolver. About four years later, I purchased a Model 19 S&W revolver from him. I received the last two, a Model 39 and a Model 669, on December 10th 1998, the day my father died. All I ever bought was S&W handguns. I found this site the same day that I picked up my first non S&W purchase, a SIG Model P 226 in .40 SW. My first Non S&W handgun and my new found Milsurp hobby started on the same day. I think my father would approve of both........
I still miss you Dad.... Dave.....in Wisconsin |

Nothing too terribly exciting, just my initials. I take weapons seriously enough that I knew I didn't want a name like Hellfire_spewing_gun_god_from_Pookipsy.
I had thought of using Branquelinho, my name from the brazilian forums, but figured that if some of the Uh-meri-kuns had trouble with it and misspelled it there then it would be nearly unintelligable here. I do try to keep the same name between sites, but when discussing Brasil I am O Branquelinho- the little white guy. Which I basically was when I lived there among all those other tanned caboclos and riberinhos. |

Had a birth mark in the shape of a bird and it was red, which has gone away.
My fore barriers came to the New World from the West Riding of York in 1687. Hence the spelling. |

Ok, here we go: TribReady: The Bible states that the Earth will face a Tribulation, or judgement period before Christ returns. I believe that as a Christian I will be taken off the earth during that time. I'm ready for that due to my relationship with Jesus.
BUT, some scholars believe Christians will be left here on earth and face the End times of the book of Revelations, the Tribulation, like chaos, death, the antichrist, all that. Well, with my gun and ammo supplies, I'm ready for that, too So, Long story short, I'm TribReady. |

Re: My nickname... | ||

When I first found this board several years ago, the first thing I did was to sign in. It asked me for a username and I could not think of any at the time. But I recalled that picture in Shotgun News for the CMP ad where the soldier says "My M1 does my talking". So I thought I might use m1talker and it has been that ever since.

Re: Question about your name

I've had the name Eigenvector since my days of playing online Quake in college. That was also my hacker nickname (and every good hacker needs a nickname - since using our real name would be pretty unwise (not to mention boring). The name came from my intense hatred of Linear Algebra (a class that I was also getting a D in at the time).

My name bears not at all on this topic as it relates to C&R arms, therefore, I decline to expound upon it.
