I'm guessing you're not getting too high of velocity to be firing the soft lead slug I see there. I'm also guessing you know a good surgeon for the torn shoulder muscles after firing this thing. I'm just not seeing the purpose of it. Seems a heap of doings to----do what?

Impressive work. But I think the firer of such a weapon is looking at torn rotator cuffs, detached retinas, and other injuries. I think it was Peter Capstick who mentioned all these old Africa professional hunters with bad shoulders from firing these monsters.

But I'll touch on something else. Don't take this personally. But you came up with this to get around a law requiring shotguns. Know why a shotgun-only law is in place? Because it's a populated hunting area and they don't want people killed. Now, if this thing shoots further than a standard shotgun slug, you're defeating the purpose of the law. The purpose of the law is to protect people from being accidently shot. So, your premise is unsafe. There isn't a trophy buck out there worth a human life, friend. And you think the law isn't going to see this and possibly see what you're doing? They're not that dumb. They might turn around and classify what you've made as a Destructive Device and confiscate the whole production line. In fact, I am almost certain it could qualify as a Destructive Device under federal law as it is now. I'm not trying to slam what you're doing, but safety in the field is always first and getting around the law isn't ethical hunting. I don't like some of the hunting laws here, but I obey them because I'm not starving and in danger of dying from starvation.

Another thing that kind of irks me is this whole loopholing phenomena in hunting today. They make a blackpowder muzzleloader season thinking guys will be out there with iron-sighted flintlocks and what do they do? These people come up with scoped, inline ignition, pyrodex pellet, saboted copper-jacketed projectile rifles that are only barely muzzleloaders. That's NOT what was intended by a muzzleloader season! But people take the lazy way and don't want to put in the trigger time with a REAL frontstuffer and so they buy these plastic space-age muzzleloaders with scopes. Savage even makes one that uses SMOKELESS powder!! This is not proper. It's not ethical. Yeah, in some cases, it's due to projectile range that muzzleloaders are required. Like with shotgun-only seasons. But these inlines have more range due to the nature of the projectile. Again, some people found a loophole to wiggle through and took the lazy man's way. I'm not real enamored of that.
