Yugo M24/47 Mauser |

I saw Samco Arms and Southern Ohio Guns were selling the Mauser M24/47 straight pull bolt rifle. Anyone have information on the straight pull bolt Mauser? I
searched surplusrifle.com and couldn't find any information. I'm curious on the history of the rifle and recommendations on the rifle. I think it
will go well with my K31. I plan to add the Steyr M95 as well. The K31 hooked me on the straight pull bolt rifles. The Swiss makes d@mn fine rifles.

JohnGalt,
It's a "straight" bolt, not a straight PULL bolt on the Mauser M24/47 that Samco is selling. In other words, it's a conventional Mauser bolt action with a bolt handle that protrudes straight outward horizontally from the receiver. Francisco d'Anconia

This is a "medium length" 98 action Mauser. Most have very nice bores. Mine is one of my most accurate rifles and likes all 8mm surplus.

Thanks for the information. Now it makes sense why I couldn't find any information. Thanks again. John Galt 42 "Live free or die, Death is not the worst of Evils." -- Gen. John Stark, 1801 |

My Steyr M95 is a straight pull.
Go ahead, make my day. |

jsut like the man said, the straight is the bolt handle, it's straight out to the side of the rifle. AS to yugo 24/47's I picked one to put a scout
mount on. It's bot about 5% blue on it. it's as accurate as anything I own.(I've got at least one of just aobut everything from 1900 up.
I brought a batch of four 24/47's and all but one had all matching numbers. the one without matching numbers had no matching numbers anywhere. I through I would try that one out just to see how important matching numbers are. Matching numbers don't mean s**t. that no matching number rifle is as accurate as anything i've got. I'm thinking of getting a scout mont for it with a scope. I really like the 24/47's rifles. they are very accurate shooters. yes, I like my K31's, swediah mausers and even my .308 ishapores. but it's hard to out shoot a yugo 24/47/ Pat |
