Saw a byf 44 at a local pawn shop that was a strange mess. It appears non-import marked, but it looks like some sort of eastern european re-work. The bolt
and cup-buttplate are almost chrome platted, all waffen marks are scrubbed, and the byf 44 is very light like it was also scrubbed.
Strange Mark: On the left side of the buttstock near the bottom is a circle with a 'R' inside and what looks like a light half arrow above it.
The overall condition is poor with lots of pitting on the outside of the barrel, which was blued over.
I passed, but what is the stock marking? Romanian?
