Posts: 8 (07/08/08 06:37 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None hey guys...figure id push my luck with ANOTHER question about the SAME gun...lol my no. 4 suddenly stoppped ejecting...it still extracs ok, the case just stays on the end of the bolt head..... the ejector spring is still in one piece, but seems easy to move....could it just be weak? i hear about the ejector screw, that threads in to the side of action....my gun has never had it....is it needed? i hate sounding like a total newb, lol, but you guys at this forum are very impressive, please, bless me with knowledge!

Posts: 289 (07/11/08 12:36 PM) active member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Hoover The Extractor and extractor spring control ejection and also plays a part in bolt jump, the extractor spring and extractor are pushing the bolt to the rear and into contact with the bolt lug contract areas on the receiver when the bolt is closed. Many of the No.4 Enfield's in circulation now came from Turkey and did not receive normal British or Commonwealth inspection and maintenance. Bottom line the Turks cannibalized parts off other Enfield's to keep them "semi-serviceable", I would replace any spring that seems weak starting with the extractor spring.
