Haenel 1907, 3 digit serial number. Anyone know who, what, or where? New one for me, never had one before.

Pics would help, but if 7mm, it should be one that was converted for the civilian market post 1910.

Probably not converted but made from scratch for commercial export sales.
If you decide tolet it go please e-mail me. I have a "thing" for Haenel model 88 based rifles. Vlad Highscore1031284@aol.com

Haenel M1907 "Kar88-7mm" | ||
|
Haenel, which had been a contractor for the original 7,9J calibre Kar88, continued making M88 actions for both Sporting Rifles and Export Military sales; by
1907, they had both Upgraded the design (Bolt Gas shield, different magazine springs, even discarded the Barrel shroud on some models)
IN 1907, they produced a "copy" of the original Kar88, but is a selction of Export and Sporting calibres ( 7mm, 7,65mm, and 9mm); the 7mm version was the most sold (Middle east, and South America, where this calibre was prevalent.) I have several "Kar88-7mm" Haenels, one of which was taken from an Arab Slaver ship in the Gulf, in 1911, by a RN destroyer party on "Anti-Slavery" duties.( details on Brass Butt Plaque.). They are defintely "Made new" by Haenel. ( 1907-1914). Most examples are marked "1907". Advertised in the 1911 ALFA catalogue. Some were used in the Mexican Revolution ( usually "private Purchse" or German " donations" after 1914.) because of the 7mm calibre. Regards, Doc AV AV Ballistics. AV Ballistics. |
