Scope for Scout Mount |
Lead | |
|
Can anyone recommend a good scope to use with the Scout Mount on my M91-30? Obviously I don't want to spend more than I did on the rifle itself. I just
want something solid & dependable for these old eyes. Thanks alot.

I have had good luck with the NcStar 2x LER, and the BSA 2x pistol scope. Any more magnification limits field of view too much for me. Some guys are using
the variable NcStar that is something like a 2-5 or 2-7x, but I can't speak about those from personal experience.
I have also enjoyed using red dots on these with the scout mounts. Tom

Tom's right on with his comments. But I will add that the NcStar 2.5x30 and 4x32 have worked very well for me, as well. I don't think that they make
them, anymore, bit my all-time favorite pistol scope for my scout mounts is a Tasco 1.5-4x28 pistol scope.
Hope this helps!
Good Shooting and God Bless!!

I've been using a Nikon 2.5-8x28 EER Monarch with great results. 8x is great at the range for load testing, and 2.5-4x is perfect for offhand use in the
field.

Those Nikon scopes are nice but they are about 3 times more than what I paid for my rifle. I use the NcStar 4x32 it's been great for my other rifles.
We'll see how it works on my 91/30 soon :-)

How does the Parallax effect Scout mounted Scopes?? | ||
|
old Sneaky Pete here: I need help with this one!! Parallax will effect your point of aim as illustrated by moving your head forom side to side and watching
your cross hairs move across your target with scopes that don't have an adjustable objective lense. Most Rifle scopes with NON adjustable obj. lenses have
their parallax set at 100 yds while pistol and other LER scopes have their parallax set at 50 yds. So I just installed a Weaver 4X28 Cla
ssic handgun scope on a CMP Scout Scope Mount with Warne Q/R rings on my M1 Garand that I plan to hunt Ferral Hogs in Florida with and when I talked to Weaver (ATK) I was advised that the parallax setting was set at 50 yds. as most of my shos will be between 100>150 yds HOW will this Parallax setting (50 yds) effect my shot???
