I saw you re enacted with a Texas unit. Were you on the 1st Red River Campaign? I was on it with Co. E, 12th Texas Inf. I was just wondering.

Howdy. No, my reenacting ended, ye gads! 20 years ago. The 125th at Gettysburg was my last big one. I was "in" the ANVa, Co.A 5th Texas Volunteer
Infantry, Texas Brigade. To give you an idea how popular the Texas Brigade is (was at the time anyway), there were more "Texas troops" there (some
11,??? I think it was) than the real Texas Brigade mustered in 1863 (800something IIRC) Some outfits had to answer a different roll for that event. But we
were good to go. We had a letter from then Gov. Conally authorizing us to represent Texas Troops. Nobody else there could claim that!.
Our Capt kept the original but I have a copy of it. We all got one.
But not long after that event, I moved and circumstances did not provide me an opportunity to continue in the hobby. Today, well, too old broke, fat, and not to mention my health ain't up to it. I'm glad to see y'all are still carrying forward the banner though. Hold it high fellows.
