I must admit I am not a Bayonet collector but I do have a few because I think they are cool. OK then I am a collector. I have not been able to ID this one on
my own so I need a little help. It is 14 1/2" overall and the blade length is 9 3/4". It has a T with a crown on top on the blade and handle. It
also has WG on the blade with somethng ovet it. What I would call the hand gaurd has 538W on it. thanks in advance.

Dutch Cavalry Model 1895 Mannlicher Carbine 2nd Variation, to be exact. Even if you don't officially collect bayonets, your library needs a copy of
Jantzen's. Be careful, bayonets can be very addictive. Now is a good time to start collecting. Lots of models out there for cheap. Also, lots of
collections being put up for sale.

Thanks for all the help!!! My real Passion is old fishing lures. I will pick up the book you suggested. Before the book comes in what is the date of this
bayonet? Thanks again for the help.

Congrats on a scarce M1895 bayonet variation. Your bayonet would have been made prior to 1904, when the Dutch began making them at Artillerie Inrichtingen in
Hembrug. Get that duct tape off the scabbard!
Whenever there is a simple error that most laymen fall for, there is always a slightly more sophisticated version of the same problem that the experts fall
for. Amos Tversky
