It is all matching, frame, barrel, slide and the mag. On the left side is P. Mod. 37, 7.65., out from that on the slide above the serial # on the frame is, j h v and right below that is the # 43. On the left side of the trigger guard is some kind of stamp with what looks to be 173. On the mag floor plate is, P Mod. 37. The gun is in very good shape as far as I can tell. The bore is super nice. Is this a 32 acp? I'm more that likely going to trade this off for a .22 pistol but if i'm right in my thinking that this a 32acp would it be safe to shoot. I know thats a tall order with out seeing the gun or knowing its headspace, condition and so on but it is very good shape and I just might go shoot it some. I don't know if this the right place to ask about this gun but I thought it may be German. O.K. guys jump in here and let me know what I've got here, any info would help and if any one has one of these pistol's how much are they worth. Thanks Everybody. noodlennut08

Posts: 1187 Aug 27 08 7:12 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The "P Model 37" is the "Femaru" a Hungarian made auto pistol that was made under Nazi occupation in WWII. The Nazis added a manual safety to the design and called it the "P-37 (u)". It was made at the Fegyvergyar Budapest factory. "FEG" is still in business and sells various pistols in the US today. The caliber is known as the 7.65mm in Europe, and the .32 Auto here in the US. If the gun is in good condition, it should be safe to fire. The Hungarian Magyar crown is stamped on the barrel front and the left side of the trigger guard. Nazi models will have the German acceptance marks "WaA58" on the trigger guard, barrel front lug and the right side of the slide. "jhv" is the Nazi code for the FEG plant, with the year made stamped under it. To disassemble: Remove the magazine and lock the slide back by pushing the slide stop up into the REARMOST notch on the slide. (Note: NOT the forward notch). Rotate the barrel 120 degrees COUNTER clockwise then pull it forward and out. Hold the slide and press the slide stop, allowing it to ease forward and off the frame along with the recoil spring and guide. Remove the slide stop. Unscrewing the screws will allow removal of the grips and access to the action. Reassemble in the reverse, remembering that the slide stop MUST be in the rear notch on the slide or the barrel cannot be installed.

It is the German (Nazi) version of the Hungarian military and approved Model 37M which was chambered for the 9mm Kurz (.380 acp). The 37M was manufactured by Femaru-Fegyvers-es Gepgyar R.T., Budapest, Hungary. In 1941, the Luftwaffe, through the German Army Acceptance Office (Heereswaffenamt) placed an order for Model 37M pistols. However the Germans requested these equipped with a manual safety and in 7.65mm caliber. These pistols were jhv41 code marked and were accepted eagle over 58 (E/58 or eagle over WaA58 (E/WaA58). A second contract was placed in 1943 and these were jhv43 code marked and were accepted eagle over WaA173 (E/WaA173). Within the collecting community these pistols are known as the "Femaru". These are well made pistols and are quite durable and reliable. Here are some photo examples from my collection of the Hungarian and German variations. Unless you have practiced it a few times, I wouldn't try it. Francis is correct. It is a very desirable Axis pistol; especially in nice condition. Joe

I discovered your website while researching the Femaru I've got, which matches exactly including the two Nazi stamps. Didn't know what it was. Anybody have an idea of its market value?
