Serial # N103583
My father got it around 1972 or so, figure it was close to new then but..............
ps--Doing web searches was a waste of time.

I don't do PC, and I don't care how it makes you feel. Get over it or go away. |

I just learned that an S&W factory letter is $50. And they have a considerable backlog they're working through.

You can call Smith and Wesson at 800-331-0852 and simply tell them that you have a Smith and Wesson revolver and would like to know the date of manufacture by
the serial number. They will either put you in touch with the Historian Roy Jinks (or his voice mail) or someone in the shop that can tell you. No
charge....

Very nice Russell. My later 80's 6" M28 is one of my favorite revolvers. Now I want a 5" M27.
