Posts: 441 (10/27/08 05:30 PM) active member Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	Tags : None I don't know if anyone else has had this problem but each time I opened the recent thread "Mosin Nagant 91/59" in the M/N forum, a scam virus warning pops up and when you hit "cancel" it opens a new window and tries to download a program. Close it quick before it completes if this happens to you as it is my understanding these "alerts" are putting viruses on your machine to force you to buy the 'cure'. Has anyone else had any problems with this on other threads/forms here? Having said that, I'll allow for the possibility I missed something and look again. I have my doubts because this virus is targeted to Windows machines (not the Mac OS) according to a recent article, on Yahoo I believe. It imitates a real Windows OS security page, etc and so is difficult for most people to recognize. Go figure...? On my dual posting of this thread at the M/N forum, swissmauser is saying he picked up a trojan "downloader" here last week while he was also not logged in and he wonders if the ads are the source of the virus. What do you think or hear from the Yuku folks? For the record, I just finished a very complete third scan of my machine and it is still clean.
