Brass handguard caps |
Lead | |
|
bought this rifle a few weeks back and was curious as to whether the brass endcaps are rare or significant of any type of service in particular, also it has a
blue sling which I'm told was a naval sling. Came with a black mag pouch also.

The brass end caps are not indicative of any service branch. There were early brass and copper end caps that used both brass and copper rivets interchangeably.
Late style brass end caps are just crimped onto the wood. Refurbs can have almost ANY Mosin part from any arsenal or vintage. Brass end caps are not rare, just
good looking. If you haven't found these two sites, you will find them very helpful: www.7.62x54r.net and www.mosinnagant.net. Regards.
