G24(T) - is it worth it?

It is marked DOU and I think the year 41. Did not have time to search for matching serial numbers or waffenampts. Stock had the bolt takedown donut and the K98-style sling slot. I think it was walnut with a flat buttplate and has not been cut down. I don't recall seeing a plugged hole in the wrist from a VZ-24 sling swivel. The handguard and barrel bands are missing. No signs of RC rework. I don't think it was import marked, either. I have a VZ-24 handguard and some barrel bands. I assume they are the same, yes? In that case, if this rifle is in otherwise decent shape, is $175 a good deal? I searched Gunbroker & GunsAmerica, but didn't find any. Thanks, Crunch

It is a G24(T) with a matching barrel and the bore looks new (wonder why?)! Otherwise, it is a mismatched parts gun (the store 'fessed up). Milled mag & trigger guard no WaA. K98k-style bent bolt (matches itself). Flat-buttplate laminated K98k stock. Price $275 rather than $175. If most had laminate stocks, what kind of handguards did they have? Long ones like a VZ-24? The rifle does not have the flange for the handguard like a K98. The only thing I think I could do to get it close would be to put it in a VZ-24 stock, handguard, and barrel bands (which I already have). I would have to cut the K98k-style sling slot myself. Also would need a straight bolt. I would feel funny even calling it a G24(T) after doing all that. It would just be an 8 mm shooter. I could buy a 24/47 much cheaper for that. For $275, I'm thinking this one just isn't worth it. Crunch
