Any idea of the worth of an original nickle plated parade rifle type 30 in very good condition?

The object is to "prove" it is original.

Are you asking about and original rifle that has been nickle plated or a rifle that in its origin was nickle plated? I don't think any of the later exist.

According to my reference book on Japanese rifles it is indeed original in every way including the nickle plating. Having put that to rest would it be worth
more than the standard $300 dollars they get for original blued guns.

Would you mind telling me the book and page where this information is found that put this to rest. I would like to enlighten my self. Thank you, riceone.

Well I found his authority. On page 174 of Military Rifles of Japan is listed Captured Chinese rifles. The bottom one is a type 30 nickle plated. That does not
verify that the rifle was originally made by the Japanese only that it was captured by the Chinese and made that way. The Chinese adapted Japanese T38 carbines
to 8x57, 762x39 and the T38 rifle to 8x57 and some others. This no way validates the these rifles came from Japanese Arsenals that way. Only that the chinese
fixed them. Had this rifle been aurthenic it would have been listed differently. You've got a rifle worthless to a real Japanese collector. Someone who
likes modified stuff may give you a good price. riceone.
