I have been shooting some of the Romaninan 150 grain and like the results. I am guessing that since most, if not all of the Yugoslavian surplus ammunition is 196 grain, this rifle is regulated for the 196 grain load. With that in mind, I thought that the Hornady 195 grain spire point might be the ticket for a hunting load that would be closest to point of aim out to 300 meters. Anyone have thoughts on this. The Hornady manual gives highest velocity with Winchester 748, but it is my understanding that VV150 is about the best powder for this round.
I did notice that there is one heck of a jump in price in projectiles when you are buying anything over 175 grains, both from Speer and Hornady. Would appreciate any experiences or suggestions.
Thanks. I am glad I found this board.
