Rarity & value of matching Peruvian 1909s? |
Lead | |

How hard is it to come by all-matching (except maybe the cleaning rod as with the Swede 96s) Peruvian 1909s in exc. condition, incl. sling and muzzle cover?
Tough to find? What would one expect to pay in today's market? Thanks!

Thanks M2. I like to stick to 90%+ blue, VG-EXC wood, all-matching, etc.

Just an innocent question, but | ||

How can the condition be better than the sum of its parts? If the wood is only VG-Exc., how does the rifle get to be exc. overall? M

I think I understand your question Mike. Seemingly most surplus rifles are going to have more wear to the wood than the bluing...softer material that shows
wear and handling more than something more durable like metal and its bluing. A surplus rifle that has been stacked or inventoried can be expected to have
more marks and wear in the wood even if the rifle was unissued.
